Now that roads are deserted owing to the lockdown in the US, one would think it is easier for people to drive around and not get involved in accidents. One would think that, but one would be wrong.
A millionaire luxury car owner rammed his $750,000 (Rs 5.75 crore, approx) Porsche Mirage GT supercar while speeding around the deserted streets of Manhattan. He was allegedly high on drugs.
33-year-old Benjamin Chen, lost control of his ultra rare luxury care at 7.30 am on April 7 and wrecked it by ramming it into a parked car.
The video of the same is going insanely viral on the internet. Several shocked onlookers watched as, after slamming his vehicle, Chen tried to drive away as if nothing happened, despite heavy damage to the body and tires. The footage of the accident shows the limited edition car speeding down a deserted streets of Manhattan, looking control and skidding head first into a white car.
Chen hit at least five other vehicles along 11th Avenue on the west side of Manhattan before eventually stopping on 44th street, north of the Javits Center.

The police eventually caught Chen. He was arrested and charged with reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs. Images reveal the front of the Porsche smashed to bits after the crash in which other cars were also damaged.
There are different videos on the internet - one shows the blue Porsche speeding away from the scene of the crash and running a red stop light while pieces of blue metal fly from the car.
In another video, police can be seen pulling the wrecked Porsche over and and to the driver.
When the Porsche rammed into the parked car the latter was displaced from its position completely.
Cases of speeding in New York have increased by 12.3% from January. Between March 5 and March 24 speed cameras caught almost 181,000 drivers speeding. As there are less number of vehicles on the road, more number of cars are driving over the speed limit.
Thankfully, there have been no reports of any passerby or person being injured in the incident. According to a website, there are only 25 cars of the limited edition and each is made specifically for its owner, well, one can now say there are currently 24.5 limited edition Porsche in the world.
