A woman was left furious after she was stopped by the cops and fined for wearing an indecent outfit. Her outfit - a crop top and a pair of denim shorts was deemed as 'indecent exposure' by the cops.
The woman, named Casey, was out with her family in Louisiana, US when three cops stopped her and gave her a ticket.
She said, "Guess what, you see my outfit? I got a f***ing ticket for indecent exposure in Winnfield, Louisiana, okay? All of my bits are covered, are you kidding me?"
¡°I live a mile down the road. They literally could have been like, ¡®hey, ma¡¯am, could you put some clothes on?¡¯ and I would have been like, ¡®yeah, cool. I¡¯ll be right back.¡¯
¡°But no. They stood there and gave me a f***ing ticket for indecent exposure.¡±
She even said that people were being handed over alcohol for free at the family event she went to, still, her attire was what that gained attention.
However, after this post got viral, the police department clarified with a post on Facebook. The post said: ¡°Three female officers responded to various complaints about the person¡¯s attire and the person of interest was issued a citation under the city ordinance.¡±
According to the post, the local law states: ¡°It shall be unlawful for any person to wear pants, trousers, shorts, skirts, dresses, or skorts in any public place or places open to the public which either intentionally exposes undergarments or intentionally exposes any portion of the pubic hair, cleft of buttocks, or genitals.¡±
It further stated: "Fines range from $25.00 for a first offence to a maximum of $300, and the person may be ordered to perform up to 40 hours of community service."
