Youtuber Receives Backlash For Telling Her Son To 'Cry For Real' For Dying Dog
A shocking clip has surfaced on social media that shows lifestyle YouTuber Jordan Cheyenne encouraging her 9-year-old son to cry over their dying dog for her thumbnail while the woman is filming him. The video has gone viral on Twitter for its insensitive nature.
The online world has changed the way people react to things. Now, everything is documented on our phones in the form of photographs and videos. This leads us to believe that our life is made up of content and we should always be documenting it. However, that does take away the authenticity of our reactions to certain situations. You know it's true.
A shocking clip has surfaced on social media that shows lifestyle YouTuber Jordan Cheyenne encouraging her 9-year-old son to cry over their dying dog for her thumbnail while the woman is filming him. The video has gone viral on Twitter for its insensitive nature.
The 30-year-old lifestyle and beauty vlogger has over half a million subscribers on the online video platform - she has now disappeared from the virtual world.
The original video was titled ¡°We are heartbroken¡± and Jordan Cheyenne didn¡¯t actually mean to continue the video and upload the viral clip.
The clip shows Jordan telling her son to ¡°Come closer¡± to the camera for the video. And she¡¯s then heard saying ¡°Put your head right here. Act like you¡¯re crying¡±.
Her son says he is crying for real but according to Jordan, his crying did not feel 'real enough', and she says, ¡°No, I know, but go like this¡± and she then instructs him to pretend to wipe a tear away and tells him to let the camera see his mouth.
One can hear her son crying, and then she tells him to look at the camera while she holds his head. She also constantly keeps instructing him to make specific facial expressions that will make him look 'sadder'. The son can be heard pleading with her that he is actually crying but his literal cries are deaf to her ears.
The tweet has over 14.8K retweets, 17.2K quote tweets and 84K likes.
"So this youtuber and her son had a puppy that passed away and she forgot to edit out the clips of her forcing him to cry more for her video thumbnail so she could get more views the world has lost it(sic)", says the caption.

One person commented, ¡°In, say, 10 or so years, I wouldn¡¯t be surprised if there are documentaries where former children explain the exploitation that came from having ¡®family vloggers¡¯ as parents. And express the anger and damage it did to them and their relationships with their parents.¡±
Jordan Cheynne has since deleted the video and not posted anything on YouTube in the last four months.
