Mukesh Ambani¡¯s youngest son Anant Ambani is all set to tie the knot with Radhika Merchant this weekend. While the grand pre-wedding bashes kept the nation, perhaps the world, hooked, at the moment small ceremonies are being held in Mumbai at their residence Antilia and NMACC ( Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center) before the D-day.
Amid all the celebration, it looks like the impending wedding has majorly benefited the hospitality industry.
Most five star hotels are sold out during the wedding dates with the room tariff going up to Rs 1 lakh per night
According to Goibibo and MakeMyTrip, the two primary hotel booking platforms, hotels in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), a prominent upscale real estate hub in Mumbai, are fully booked. One hotel's room rate has soared to Rs 91,350 per night on July 14, significantly higher than the usual rate of Rs 13,000 per night. Although there's no official confirmation yet on guest accommodations, hotel rates in BKC and surrounding areas have surged dramatically.
There¡¯s a high demand in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) around the dates of July 9 to July 16. Trident BKC¡¯s tariff ranges between Rs 11,750 - Rs 19,750 per night while Sofitel BKC tariff goes up to Rs 91,350.
During high-profile weddings or the peak wedding season (October to December), hotels in Mumbai often sell out or charge premiums ranging from 30% to 50%. This increased demand also affects flight and taxi prices, which tend to rise accordingly
