Hotel Charges Go Up To Rs 1 Lakh Per Night In Ayodhya
Data from travel portals like EaseMyTrip, SOTC, Thomas Cook and others indicate that people are willing to pay not in thousands but even lakhs to attend the Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony. Lakhs of devotees and around 7,000 guests are expected to visit Ayodhya and attend Ram temple's inauguration on January 22.
The large footfall expected on and around the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya presents significant economic opportunities, as per a Mint report. The most luxurious room at the Park Inn Radisson, one of Ayodhya's upscale hotels, has been reserved for up to Rs 1 lakh.
Online travel agencies like MakeMyTrip and Booking.com are displaying "no availability" in the majority of Ayodhya's hotels ahead of the event. Rent has increased up to five times over the average amount if rooms are available. The Cygnett Collection Hotel in Ayodhya said that most of the rooms are already reserved and that the remaining rooms are available for Rs 70,240. On the other hand, a Ramayana Hotel representative claimed that the cost of a hotel room during the days leading up to the consecration ceremony has exceeded Rs 40,000 per day, as per India Today report.
¡°Leading up to the inauguration, Ayodhya's hotels are fully booked, enabling them to leverage increased pricing. Occupancy rates have risen from 80% to 100%, resulting in substantial price hikes, reaching up to ?70,000 per night in select hotels", as per EaseMyTrip. Given the limited hotel inventory, customers are inclined to look at day trips to Ayodhya and are booking accommodations in Lucknow and Prayagraj, noted Rastogi.

Ayodhya Flight Costs Soar Above Rs 20,000
Besides the soaring hotel prices ahead of the grand inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir on January 22, flight costs, too, are reaching the skies. Domestic flights from Mumbai and Delhi to Ayodhya range around Rs 15,000-Rs 20,000 per passenger (on way), v/s the usual costs of Rs 3,000-Rs 5,000. Click here to read more about this.
