'Idhar Ajao...Mil Ke Khatam Karte Hai', Man Tells Zepto After Receiving Nearly Expired 10kg Atta
Gajender Yadav, a resident of Delhi, experienced a significant inconvenience when he received a packet of 10 kg wheat flour from Zepto with an expiration date just eight days away. Concerned about how his family could consume 10 kg of flour in such a short time
The use of food delivery apps has surged recently as our busy lifestyles make convenience and time-saving solutions more appealing. However, this growth has also highlighted issues like quality control, late deliveries, incorrect orders, and misplaced items. A recent incident has brought these concerns to the forefront, sparking a debate about the reliability of the food service industry.
Gajender Yadav, a resident of Delhi, experienced a significant inconvenience when he received a packet of 10 kg wheat flour from Zepto with an expiration date just eight days away. Concerned about how his family could consume 10 kg of flour in such a short time, Yadav took to social media platform X to express his frustration. He humorously invited Zepto to help him finish the flour within the limited time frame.
Yadav wrote on X with a picture of the flour packet, ¡°@ZeptoNow ordered 10kg wheat from Zepto. The expiry date is after 8 days. 8 din mai 10kg kaise khatam hoga @ZeptoNow bhai?? Idhar ajao¡mil ke khatam karte hai,¡±
Yadav¡¯s post quickly gained attention, and Zepto responded by expressing regret for the "unpleasant experience" and asked Yadav to share his order details for further resolution.

Zepto responded, ¡°Hi, We regret this unpleasant experience. Could you please DM us your registered contact details or order ID? Our team will shortly get in touch with you.¡±
However, the situation escalated when Yadav received a call from Zepto's customer care, advising him to consume the flour within seven days, which he found unreasonable for a small family.
Unhappy with the response, Yadav publicly criticized Zepto's handling of near-expiry products and suggested they display expiration dates on their app to avoid similar issues. He also decided to send the remaining flour to Zepto's founders, emphasising that they should understand the difficulties faced by common consumers.
¡°Received call from @zeptocares and lady said NOTHING CAN BE DONE HERE¡..EAT 10KG of WHEAT IN 7 DAYS. Unprofessional behavior. Dear @aadit_palicha @v0hra you need to add some training sessions of common sense and logic for your customer service. Atleast show expiry date on your app if you are running your business by selling NEAR EXPIRY products. @chiragbarjatyaa,¡± he wrote.
Despite Zepto's offers of a refund, Yadav declined, stating that the issue was now about the time, energy, and harassment he endured rather than the monetary compensation. This incident has led him to become more vigilant about checking expiration dates on all products he purchases .
¡°Dear @aadit_palicha @v0hra Please share address of your office. Will send 7KG¡..don¡¯t wanna waste it,¡± he added. In another post, Yadav informed that he got Zepto¡¯s office address and is sending 3 kg of wheat flour to their office.
Gajender Yadav's ordeal with Zepto took a humorous turn in the latest update. After his initial post about receiving nearly expired wheat flour gained traction, he shared a tongue-in-cheek update suggesting that his post might have reached Zepto¡¯s founders. He humorously noted that the sudden offer of a refund seemed to be prompted by the realization that their office was about to receive 3 kg of nearly expired flour.
