From Infosys To Tata Sons: Here's How Much Leaders Of Some Top Indian Companies Earn

IT giant Infosys has reportedly raised CEO Salil Parekh¡¯s salary by a whopping 88%, and he will be paid nearly ?79.75 crores as salary after his reappointment, effective July 1st 2022.

According to the annual report of the company, his salary has been hiked from ?42.5 crore (in FY 2021-22) to ?79.75 crore, implying a hike of nearly 88%.

For the financial year 2021-22, he was reportedly paid a total of ?71.02 crore, of which ?52.33 crore was for exercising 2,29,792 restricted stock units (RSUs) under the 2015 plan and 1,48,434 RSUs under the 2019 plan. It also included a base salary of ?5.6 crore and a retiral benefit of ?38 lakh, as per Infosys' annual report, as stated by TheHinduBusinessLine.

This makes him one of the highest-paid executives in India. But how much do some of the other top Indian CEOs earn? Let¡¯s have a look.

1) Mukesh Ambani-Reliance Industries

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani is the Chairman & Managing Director of Reliance Industries. Ambani has kept his annual salary, perquisites, allowances and commission together capped at ?15 crore per annum since FY 2008-09, according to ET report. In FY 2020-21, he reportedly voluntarily gave up remuneration in light of the pandemic hitting the business and the economy.

2) SN Subrahmanyan-Larsen & Toubro

S N Subrahmanyan, the CEO and managing director of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reportedly took home ? 27.17 crore in 2019-20, after taking a 43.91% voluntary pay cut amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by ET.

3) CP Gurnani -Tech Mahindra

CP Gurnani is the CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra. According to the TOI report, he earned ? 22 crores in the FY 2020-21, which was nearly 33% lower than the previous FY's Rs 33.2 crore salary.

4) Rajesh Gopinathan-Tata Consultancy Services

After serving as CFO since 2013, Rajesh Gopinathan was appointed CEO of Tata Consultancy Services in February 2017. This came in after former CEO N Chandrasekaran was elevated to the role of Tata Sons chairman. TCS CEO's total compensation in the last financial year 2021-22 reportedly grew around 28% to Rs 25.8 crore, as per a TOI report last week.

The TCS CEO is said to have received a salary of Rs 1.5 crore, benefits & allowance of Rs 2.3 crore, and a commission of Rs 22 crore during the FY 2021-22.

5) Sunil Mittal-Bharti Enterprises

Sunil Mittal is the founder and chairperson of Bharti Enterprises. He had reportedly received a salary of ? 30.13 crore in FY 2020, which was a decline of about 3% v/s previous year¡¯s remuneration of Rs 31 crore, as per an ET report.

6) Siddhartha Lal-Eicher Motors Ltd

In FY 2020-21, Siddhartha Lal, who is the MD of Eicher Motors, reportedly received a remuneration of Rs 21.1 crore, as per ET.

7) Sanjiv Puri-ITC Ltd

Sanjiv Puri has been the Chairman and Managing Director of ITC Ltd since May 2019. Before that, he served as the Managing Director, CEO as well as COO of the company. His annual remuneration reportedly jumped 47.23% to ? 10.10 crore in FY2020-21, as per the company¡¯s annual report, stated by ET.

8) N Chandrasekaran-Tata Sons

The Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran reportedly received a pay package of ?58 crore for FY2020, according to the TOI report. This was a drop of nearly 11% from his FY2019 remuneration of Rs 66 crore. In Feb 2022, when he was reappointed for a second term as executive chairman of Tata Sons, the TOI report stated that his annual compensation package is exceeding Rs 60 crore.
