Mankale resident of Beed district, Maharashtra,?lost 75 percent of his vision in 2014 when he was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a disorder that causes loss of vision.

But that didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams.?
According to an HT report, he cracked the civil service exam in his fourth attempt securing the All-India rank of 923 in the specially-abled category. He now hopes to land his dream job in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
¡°I could not afford audio books or a screen reader. Therefore, I started listening various debates on the radio, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha TV. After his father passed away, he continued his attempts without coaching, and his mother and sister took up the financial responsibility for the family, by selling homemade spices, pickles and other food items.
