Have you been thinking about making a fairytale exit from your life? Something like moving to a remote country and starting life all over again. If so, then you are in luck! Not only are there countries that are looking for new residents to move in but these countries are also willing to pay people to settle in their serene landscapes.
Towns across Italy have been racing to launch new schemes and packages for potential residents to grab hold of any new locals that could revive their declining treasures. From selling abandoned houses at $1 to paying people to become new residents, they are exhausting all their options.
Following the same suit, the stunning town of Presicce in the sunny region of Puglia is making a tantalising offer. The authorities say that they will pay anyone up to 30,000 Euro (over Rs 46 Lakhs) to buy an empty dwelling and take up residency.
The houses that are up for sale and come under the scheme are priced at around 25,000 Euros (about Rs 22 Lakh). Although these are abandoned properties, they are incredibly scenic with nature and powdery beaches surrounding them.
Authorities hope these offers will be enough to repopulate the region, especially with its declining count of young residents.
The village of Albinen in Switzerland is offering families great offers to relocate to the picturesque locality. The mountain valley is situated 4,265 feet above sea level and is home to scenic snow-capped mountains and valleys.
Despite its mesmerising mountain views, the town is facing a depopulation issue as many locals have decided to move to the surrounding cities. To counter the issue, the village authorities have launched a scheme and are willing to pay families ready to relocate over 50,000 Euros (Around Rs 50 Lakh).
Per adult in a family of four can receive up to 25,000 Swiss Francs (Rs 22.5 Lakhs) and a further 10,000 Swiss Francs (Rs 9 Lakh) per child.
This Greek island with only 20 residents is paying up for people to come live on the beautiful and historic island. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Greek island of Antikythera has, much like the other towns of Italy, launched a special program to lure in residents to the depopulating island.
Although precedence is given to Greek residents, the Greek Orthodox Church will give families that are chosen in the program some land, a house, and even a monthly stipend of 500 Euro (around Rs 44,000) for the first three years the family lives there.?
