Kangana Ranaut has failed miserably in impressing her fans with her later action film "Dhaakad".?Within three days of its release, the film was pulled down from the big screens? due to negative reviews.
Following the failure of Dhaakad, there have been reports that Kangana Ranaut's next thriller Tejas will be released directly to OTT. Certain segments of the film will be re-shot to avoid making the same mistake as the action thriller, which failed to establish a connection with the viewers. Nonetheless, the producers have now stated that the upcoming film is still set for a dramatic release in October.
Tejas, a thriller directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Films, stars Kangana Ranaut. Producers have confirmed that the film will be released in theatres on October 5. However, there has been no confirmation from the creators, and we are still waiting for an official announcement. Kangana Ranaut, Sankalp Gupta, Veenah Naair, Varun Mitra, and others star in the film.
According to sources, Ronnie Screwvala and the RSVP team are still working on Tejas and are discussing a direct to OTT release, but they haven't decided on a platform or a release date. Furthermore, there is currently an agreement that an OTT release will benefit all parties, including the producer, actor, and director. They don't want to be surprised by a similar box office fate as Dhaakad, so they'd like to lock down their commercials.
Dhaakad was directed by Razneesh Ghai and stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Saswata Chatterjee. Dhaakad received mixed reviews, but audiences appear to have given the film a pass. As per Bollywood Hungama,?Dhaakad had the unfortunate luck of collecting only Rs 4,420 on the eighth day of its dramatic journey and selling only 20 tickets across the country. The film was a fiasco was obvious from the very first moment itself. By and large, Dhaakad has made around Rs 3 crore, proceeding with Kangana's long dash of film industry underperformance.
Kangana Ranaut has now begun work on her next film, titled 'Emergency.' After 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi,' this will be the actress' second directorial venture.
