There's good news for those who have been eagerly awaiting the development of Penelope and Colin's friendship-turned-romance. The third season premiere date of the popular historical drama Bridgerton.
The forthcoming season will depart from the original Julia Quinn novels on which the show is based and instead concentrate on the love story of Colin and Penelope, also known by their fan-given nickname "Polin."

Jess Brownell Talks About The Show
¡°I really feel like it¡¯s Colin and Penelope¡¯s time. Because we¡¯ve been watching both of these actors on our screens since Season 1, we¡¯ve already invested in them a little bit. We know who they are as people,¡± said Jess Brownell, showrunner and EP of the Shondaland series, to Variety in May 2023.
Brownell added, ¡°I feel like, especially in the last season, there are these moments of tension between them where it¡¯s like, Colin walks up to the line of almost realizing that Penelope has feelings for him but doesn¡¯t quite get there. Instead of treading water on that dynamic, we wanted to push it into their season. It really felt like the perfect moment to tee it up.¡±
This season of the Regency-era drama centers on the love story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, played respectively by Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.
The majority of the Bridgerton cast, which includes series regulars like Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), and others, will also be back.
Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen are also executive producers on Season 3.
