The trailer for the much-awaited and highly anticipated film Jogi has just been released, and we are completely smitten. With Jogi, Diljit Dosanjh will make his OTT debut. Jogi is a period film set in the 80s that tells the narrative of a young Sikh kid who becomes involved in the 1984 Sikh riots. It will be fascinating to see his character's bravery and chivalry during the horrible battle.
The trailer shows that the movie is set in New Delhi, with a Sikh family eating a meal together before the scene cuts to the sounds of rifle rounds. Diljit plays Jogi, and he can be heard asking the mob, who are filled with anger and rage, "Meri Galti Kya Hai," to which they respond, "Tu Sardar Hai Yehi Teri Galti Hai."
By the look of the trailer, it is based on a true story and chronicles the life of a young Sikh child who witnesses the brutality against his religion. It is the narrative of Jogi, who is determined to save his family as well as the town.?
There have been numerous films and web series based on this occurrence, but this will be the first time we witness a real Sardar play the character of a Sikh.
