Ramalinga Raju was included in the fourth episode, which was never released, and in the last week of August 2020, he?approached the civil court in Hyderabad seeking to halt the release of the episode on Netflix, which was created against him.He had claimed that if the episode including him and the other three were broadcast, it would damage his reputation and was scheduled to air on September 4, 2020. On his plea, the Civil Court issued ex-parte orders instructing Netflix not to air the Ramalinga Raju series and sending letters to Netflix.
Netflix filed an ex-parte petition with the Telangana High Court in September 2020, challenging the ex-parte orders. Over the course of two months, the matter was repeatedly heard by the division bench at that time. The matter was heard by the Division Bench, which included Justice Shameem Akther and Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka.?
The bench questioned Netflix's counsel on why the company did not submit the vacate petition before the lower court on ex-parte orders, rather than waiting. Netflix's senior attorney, C.V. Mohan Reddy, stated that the case was already before the High Court, hence the company did not file a vacate petition.?
Satyam Raju was represented by senior attorney S. Niranjan Reddy.After hearing the case, the High Court advised Netflix to file a vacate motion in civil court.
