The ensemble cast of the production, which is directed by Sumit Saxena, comprises of actors like Vijay Varma, Shweta Tripathi, Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Dutt, and Suzanna Mukherjee, to name a few.
Reacting to the series, one wrote, ¡°Kaalkoot is a masterclass in what storytelling in Indian cinema/OTT has rarely even dared to attempt, let alone succeed: bring together a neat screenplay, an apt cast, haunting scores, and poetry, and blend them like that's the normal.¡±
Another added, ¡°Actor @MrVijayVarma in a rocking role in #Kaalkoot new web-series.A must watch series and his onscreen personality keeps improving after each series.. Amazing, talented and gifted he is in all respects and hope the coming episodes shall be even better with a gripping tale. @Viacom18Studios @dotsandsquares.¡±
A third wrote, ¡°#OTT has done it again. If we have actors like #VijayVarma and stories like #Kaalkoot and #Kohrra- we still have hope for this country and its women.¡±

Vijay portrays the protagonist, policeman Ravi Shankar Tripathi. Vijay portrays his part with style and elegance, and he brilliantly captures the subtleties of the part.
Talking about preparing for the role, Vijay said according to Outlook, "I did a lot of mental math. I sat with writer-director Sumit Saxena and we just brainstormed and all. We probably had more discussions than any other project I ever had. My directors would often complain that 'ye bohot discussion karta hain humare saath'. But this went all. Even Sumit is very collaborative. We wanted to kind of walk through the entire story properly when we were reading and I figured out what the character arc is. We covered as many issues as we could and we called out several things that are wrong in society.? We were very mindful of what we were doing. The script was fabulous in itself and I liked it."
You can stream Kaalkoot on Jio Cinema.
