Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar has made headlines since trade analyst Komal Nahta accused the film's producers of blocking bookings in order to artificially boost the film's box office receipts. The film's director Sandeep Kewlani clarified that it is not true and the sales were genuine. In a video, Komal accused the producers of Sky Force, starring Akshay and Veer Pahariya, of using theater reservations as a last resort. Sandeep Kewlani refuted the claims in an interview.
Sandeep Kewlani told News18,? ¡°As for Chhaava or Sky Force, our collections are genuinely organic and there have been no block bookings. This is the audience¡¯s love. It has been nearly 20 days since the picture was released, and even today I get messages daily on Instagram and Twitter from viewers who have loved the film.¡±?
The director stated that after a film is produced and seen by the public, their work is done. He underlined that consumers don't remember a movie's box office receipts over time. Using Munna Bhai as an example, they noted that while the majority of viewers would remember the movie itself, they would not remember its box office receipts. He contended that a movie's lasting influence and impact on viewers are more important than its box office performance.
Sandeep underlined that a movie's box office receipts are only significant for a short time, usually 15 days to a month, after which they are mostly forgotten. He said that a movie's financial success shouldn't be the only indicator of its quality and questioned the necessity of disclosing its earnings to the public. He believes that the audience should have the final say over whether or not to view a film, and that the collection has no bearing on the film's actual worth. He emphasized that while trade professionals started the practice of concentrating on box office numbers, a good film will eventually find its audience regardless.
?He added that even if a movie makes Rs 300 crore but doesn't connect with audiences, its financial success won't alter their perception. According to him, the audience is aware of what they want to see and is unconcerned with box office results.?
In the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air conflict, India launched its first airstrike against Pakistan's Sargodha airbase, which is the heart of Sky Force. The film stars Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and newcomer Veer Pahariya in addition to Akshay Kumar. Maddock Films and Jio Studios have produced it, while Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani have directed it.
