Suhani Bhatnagar was in 6th standard when she was selected for Aamir Khan's blockbuster Dangal. It has been six years since the film released and the Bhatnagar who played the role of young Babita Phogat in the movie is all grown up now.??
Dangal was her debut movie. She was selected for the role after a few rounds of auditions. Later, she worked on her Haryanvi accent as well as fitness.
The auditions went for?several months as director Nitesh Tiwari was certain he did not want to cast someone from the industry.
The team was hence looking for fresh faces who had little or no former training in acting. So even when the team selected someone for auditioning, they had to give them time to prepare for the screen test, making the process even more challenging.
A spokesperson at that time had confirmed in a statement to IANS, "We have been auditioning but have not been able to zero in on the casting yet."
