The poster of 'Masoom Sawaal', a film based on menstruation, has created a huge controversy on social media for featuring an image of Lord Krishna on a sanitary pad.?
Now, the director Santosh Upadhyay and actress Ekavali Khanna, who plays a lawyer in the film have opened up about why the poster of their forthcoming film shows a sanitary pad.?
She further mentioned that the sole purpose of it was to break the taboo and change the narrative.?
"In this generation, there is no room for superstitions and ill practices that are forcefully imposed on women unnecessarily,¡± Ekavali said.?

Speaking of how the film will help change the narrative around menstruation and create awareness, the actress said, "On my part, I'm essaying a lawyer who helps the child facilitate her moto to fight against the rules of the society that are imposed on her and her conflict with her family who doesn't understand her sentiments."?
Recently, Leena Manimekalai's documentary film 'Kaali's poster stirred a major controversy for showing a woman dressed as Hindu goddess Kali smoking a cigarette.?The poster was considered to be an insult to Hinduism and many called for legal action against the filmmaker for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. However, Leena Manimekalai told BBC that the goddess depicted in her film "champions humanity and embraces diversity" and as a poet and filmmaker, she embodies Kali in her own independent vision.?
