As per the student¡¯s statement, Rajpal was riding on a scooter and he was not driving it appropriately. Balaji further accused the actor of misbehaving and quarrelling with him. The grieving student added that members at the film shoot also threatened to kill him. Speculations suggest that the ongoing shooting was for Netflix¡¯s Kathal.
Several media reports quoted Station House Officer of Colonelganj police station, Ram Mohan Rai saying, ¡°The scooter which the actor was riding was an old one. The actor lost control and hit the student after its clutch wire broke. There were no visible injuries to the student. However, further investigation is being carried out following which further action will be taken.¡±
As per Bollywood Hungama, ¡°the shooting was taking place near a certain Laxmi Talkies crossing in the area and it resulted in a massive crowd assembling to catch a glimpse of the film¡¯s shoot. Later, the shooting was shifted to another area where Rajpal Yadav was expected to shoot the scene of him riding a scooter.¡±
Reportedly, Rajpal¡¯s team in their complaint said that some people disrupted the shoot, including the alleged victim i.e. the student. They added that all the attempts to halt the shoot occurred despite receiving the required permissions from the district administration. Hearing all sides of the story, investigations are underway.
Yadav told Filmfare, ¡°Every actor has the dream of being the main lead, but I have a bad habit of always leaving doors open for roles. If the role is 3¨C4 scenes, I think of it as a 20¨C20 cricket match where I have 3 overs to play. I think that this is the IPL of entertainment, and if I have 3-4 overs here in which I do well, it's all good. So I have never kept these boundaries that say 'lead hai toh lead hi karunga.' If there is a character where I get the opportunity that gives me the hook, I take it.¡±
