The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal arrived in theatres on 1st December and is running houseful since then. Within three days, this Sandeep Reddy Vanga film has earned over Rs 200 crores domestically. Other than Ranbir, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Anil Kapoor and Shakti Kapoor in pivotal roles.
Within just a few hours of its release, Animal was leaked on various Torrent platforms. Reportedly, soon after the movie was also made available in HD version on several Telegram and WhatsApp channels. Unlike other actors who are actively speaking against piracy ahead of their releases, Ranbir made no such appeal.
There were several intimate scenes between Ranbir and Rashmika as well as Ranbir and Triptii which are taking the internet by storm. Even some deleted scenes including the one when drunk Ranbir flies the plane have gone viral. Well, don¡¯t expect us to share them in this article as we don¡¯t endorse, support or promote piracy in any way.
In the latest interview with News18 Showsha, Anurag shared, ¡°I¡¯m yet to watch Animal. But I¡¯m aware of the conversations happening online. Nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn¡¯t make. People in this country get easily offended by films. They get offended by my films too. But I expect educated people to not get offended at the drop of a hat.¡±
He continued, ¡°This discussion happened during Kabir Singh too. Filmmakers have the right to make any film they want to and represent what they want to. We can criticise, argue and disagree with them. Films either provoke or evoke. I¡¯ve no problem with filmmakers that make provocative cinema.¡±
He shared, ¡°Every kind of character and people exists in this society. 80 per cent of Indian men are like Kabir Singh. I didn¡¯t have an issue with the subject. Once I see Animal, I¡¯ll discuss it with the filmmaker. I¡¯ll pick up the phone for him. That¡¯s what I always do. If I have an issue with a film, I always call up the filmmaker and talk to him. I don¡¯t want to get into social media chatter.¡±
