Saif Ali Khan, known for his versatile acting career, has also quietly become a wise real estate player, leasing out his ancestral property, the Pataudi Palace, to various film productions.
The iconic palace has graced the screen in prominent projects like the Prime Video series "Tandav," the Hollywood hit "Eat Pray Love," starring Julia Roberts, Aamir KhanĄ¯s classic "Rang De Basanti," and most recently, the blockbuster "Animal," directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor.
Notably, a scene in which Ranbir Kapoor's character, Ranvijay, was walking menacingly while bloodied and shirtless bore a striking resemblance to a photo Saif shared a few years ago.
Another scene capturing a clean-shaven Ranvijay posing for a family picture was filmed on the palace's grounds, with behind-the-scenes glimpses shared on social media last year.
Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, the Nawab of Pataudi, built Pataudi Palace in the 1930s, now worth hundreds of crores. Following the death of Mansoor Ali Khan, the property transitioned into a lease with a hotel chain. In candid interviews, Saif revealed that he had to buy back the property, dismissing rumors of inheritance. "Even the house IĄ¯m supposed to have inherited has been earned back through money from films. You canĄ¯t live off the past. At least we canĄ¯t in our family because there was nothing. There is history, culture, beautiful photographs, and, of course, some land. It has been a privileged upbringing. But thereĄ¯s been no inheritance," he shared with Mid-Day.
Every few months, glimpses of Pataudi Palace surface on social media through pictures shared by SaifĄ¯s wife or his sisters, Soha and Saba Ali Khan.?
The family cherishes significant moments at the palace, providing a serene retreat for the youngest generationĄĒTaimur, Jeh, and InaayaĄĒto experience a life of freedom away from Mumbai's bustling urban life.
An advertisement for the House of Pataudi fashion label also unveiled the palace's lavish interiors, showcasing various antiques and rooms, with Saif himself playing the role of a tour guide.
