Since its release, Shaitaan, which stars Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan and was directed by Vikas Bahl, has been performing well at the domestic box office. In barely three days, the film has surpassed the Rs 50-crore milestone in India. 'Shaitaan' made its highest-ever revenue in India on Sunday, March 10, earning Rs 20 crore net since its premiere.?
Early estimates indicate that "Shaitaan" collected more on Day 3 than it did on Days 1 and 2. The movie made a net total of Rs 53.50 crore at the domestic box office.
Actress Jyotika said in an interview with ANI, "There are a lot of sequences in the film that ignite motherhood, and I don't know if I want to reveal them, but one of them was a very important reason why I said yes to this film also. I think throughout, it was a constant that the film reminded you of how responsible one has to be with a teenage daughter and what role a mother and father play in the protective journey of their kids."
He said as per IANS, "I am very excited about the response that the trailer, and 'Shaitaan' are receiving. I did not expect this level of appreciation. We are keeping our fingers crossed for this film. I was offered this film by Kumar Ji (the producer) when I was shooting for a Tamil film in summer last year in Chennai, and he just said, 'I don't want to talk to you, this is the film that you are doing'."
?He further mentioned, "I thought I was offered the father's role. That's when Kumar Ji said, 'Before you say anything, we want you to play the Villain'. I was quite stunned, and I was amazed that Ajay sir would want to give that role to me. I see the intelligence behind it now. I hope I've done justice to it, but looking at the response so far, we are all very elated, and I hope that we live up to the expectation."
Vikas Bahl is the director of the horror movie.
