Valentine’s Week Special: SRK-Kajol Starrer DDLJ To Premiere In Over 37 Cities Pan-India

Bollywood’s iconic love story Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has returned to theatres yet again. This 1995 released blockbuster starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles with an assembled cast of Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher and Farida Jalal.

To entertain the fans, DDLJ will premiere this valentine’s week starting on 10th February.

The film is being released pan-India on major national chains across 37 cities. This includes Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Lucknow, Noida, Dehradun, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Chennai, Vellore, Trivandrum.

Announcing the same, Rohan Malhotra, YRF’s Distribution - Vice President said, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has become synonymous to romance for India and Indians for generations since its historic release. We are constantly requested by the audience and fans, throughout the year, for a wider showcasing of the film so that they can, again and again, watch this milestone-setting film with their friends and family in theatres!”

“This year, on the occasion of Valentine`s Day, we are making their wish come true. DDLJ will be screened across India, starting Feb 10, for a period of one week only!”

For the unversed, DDLJ rules as the longest-running movie in the history of Indian cinema. The film without any hindrance still premieres every day since the time of its release in Mumbai`s Maratha Mandir theatre. The film was Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut and upon its release earned close to Rs. 2 billion.

Rohan further added, "YRF and SRK are not only synonymous with delivering Indian cinema`s biggest blockbusters but also for collaborating on films which have redefined the Indian film industry and have had a lasting cultural impact. It is an amazing coincidence that DDLJ was released by YRF during its 25th-year celebrations and 25 years later, `Pathaan` has become the highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide.
