Six years after the original film was released, the sequel Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has hit the theatres and it has become the biggest opener of 2024 already. The first-day collection of the film stands at Rs?54.35 crore. The movie also benefitted from its paid preview shows a day before its release. Stree 2 has become the highest opener of 2024 beating films like Kalki 2898 AD, whose Hindi version earned Rs 22.5 crore on its first day at the India box office. Other films in the list include Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter Rs 37.8 crores, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's?Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which minted Rs 30 crores on the first day,?Shaitaan which earned about Rs 22 crores and?Crew which grossed about Rs 20 crores.?
1. Scarier than the first part
The blend of horror and comedy, Stree 2 is being hailed as scarier than the first part. The film starts from where the original ended. This one too is based on the folklore of?Sarkata Bhoot, believed to be a supernatural who is capable of transforming into any person or animal to lure its target. There are good?jump scares with the new spirit.?
2. Exciting cameos
The horror comedy movie marks the return of Akshay Kumar to comedy after five years. Akshay whose film?Khel Khel Mein has also released along with Stree 2, has a cameo in the film and everyone is calling it baap of cameos. So much so that people are comparing his role to that of Thanos from Marvel Cinematic Universe.?Apart from Akshay,?Varun Dhawan and actress?Tamannaah Bhatia's cameo is also being loved by fans.?
3. Rajkummar Rao shines in the film
If you loved?Rajkummar Rao's acting in Stree, you won't be disappointed in this one. He is back in his?Bareilly Ki Barfi avatar and he is just terrific as Bicky. He steals the thunder from everyone else.
4. Abhishek Banerjee and?Pankaj Tripathi's epic comedy timing
Just like the last one, his one-liners and punches are worth the watch. Tripathi as Rudra will sure keep you entertained. Apart from him,?Abhishek Banerjee's naive, small-town buffoon boy Vedaa will steal your hear once again. He and?Aparshakti Khurrana will leave you laughing each time they appear on the big screen.? ?
5. Shraddha Kapoor's performance is worth it too?
Shraddha Kapoop's entry scene is hoot-worthy and her character is indeed integral to the storyline. Some people are calling her performance best until date.?
