However, when Lok Sabha 2024 election results were announced, there came a surprising twist. The party lost in Faizabad-Ayodhya to INDIA bloc candidate Awadhesh Prasad and the opposition hit back with slogan, "Na Ayodhya, na Kashi, ab ki baar Awadhesh Pasi," highlighting the Dalit identity of the SP candidate.

The actor is mighty disappointed with the results. Taking to Instagram Stories, he shared a photo of Kattappa (Ayodhya) killing Baahubali (BJP, thus reflecting how he was betrayed by his people. "We are forgetting that these are the same Ayodhya citizens who doubted Goddess Sita after she returned from exile. What do you call that person who even denies God? Selfish. History is witness that the citizens of Ayodhya has always betrayed their king. Shame on them," he then wrote in Hindi.?

He also wrote, "We salute your greatness dear citizens of Ayodhya, you are the ones who didn't spare even Goddess Sita. We are not shocked that you betrayed the man who made sure that Lord Ram came out of that small tent and was installed in a beautiful temple. The entire nation will never see you with respect again."

He also shared a video expressing his disappointment with the Ayodhya Lok Sabha election results. "Will it work smoothly for the coming five years?" he asked in the video and added that he was happy that two of his favourite candidates Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil won from their respective constituencies.?For the unversed, Arun Govil contested from Meerut and Kangana Ranaut contested the Lok Sabha 2024 elections from her hometown Mandi.
