Sunny Deol's attendance in parliament hasn't been very impressive. The actor has been missing in action for a long time. In the first session, the actor and Gurdaspur MP was absent for 28 days and attended only nine sittings, out of 37 days the house functioned.
Recently, Sunny Deol was declared "missing". Posters reading "Gumshuda ki Talash (search for missing), MP Sunny Deol" have surfaced at a few public places in Pathankot in Punjab. They are all over the parks as well as railway station.?
Responding to the same, Sunny Deol took to social media to say, "I have heard that my detractors are coming up with nonsensical things against me. Opposition leaders should work for the welfare of people. I am also working to resolve the traffic congestion in the city. Wish you all a happy Lohri," Sunny Deol said in a video.?
Sunny Deol ventured into the world of politics last year after he won his first Lok Sabha election as a BJP candidate from Gurdaspur. He was competing against Congress MP Sunil Jakhar.?
Soon after winning the elections, Sunny Deol faced quite a lot of backlash after he appointed writer Gurpreet Singh Palheri as his representative to "attend meetings and follow important matters".
Taking a dig at his missing posters, Congress leader Manish Tewari said, "Not surprising... same thing happened to his father Dharmendra in Bikaner. Gurdaspur missed the chance of a good man @sunilkjakhar representing them again.Would have added to @INCIndia's strength in Parliament."?
In the video that Deol released on the occasion of Lohri, Sunny Deol promised to do more work and said that trust of the people is his strength.?
