There have been instances and allegations of inflated or fake box office collections in Bollywood. To create a buzz around the film and attract more viewers, do filmmakers often engage in these activities??
On his website Film Information, he revealed the collection of the film as:
Friday -?Rs 10 crore
Saturday - Rs 15 crore
Sunday - Rs 17.5 crore
Monday - Rs 6.25 crore
Tuesday - Rs 6.60 crore
Wednesday - Rs 6.16 crore
Thursday - Rs 5.75 crore
Furthermore, the website noted, "The first day of the second weekend closed at Rs. 6.50 crore, which is more than almost every weekday of the first week, another unusual record. All the aforementioned figures include the revenues from block bookings and bulk ticket sales. No film in the history of Hindi cinema has collected Rs. 6-plus crore on the fourth, fifth and sixth days of the first week after netting only Rs. 10 crore on the opening day. Likewise, no film has ever recorded a better first day (Friday) of the second week than the last day (Thursday) of the first week, like?RRKPP?has. In pure commercial terms (cost versus box-office revenues) though, this will be one of ace director Karan Johar¡¯s weaker films."
"Glorious ness of paid PR¡ I can throw money to write anything¡ I can buy any paper¡ Itna ghamand toh Ravan ko bhi nahi tha", she said.
She wrote, "Karan Johar ji bol rahe hain ki main paise phenk ke kuch bhi karwa sakta hoon¡ kuch bhi perception build kar sakta hoon¡ Kya yeh sirf apni films ko hit karate hain apna maheemamandan karte hain ya dusaron ka negative PR aur unki hit films ko flop bhi karate hain ?"
Even at that time, Kangana Ranaut had accused the film of fake box office collection. Here's how Ranbir Kapoor defended this back then.?
