Karthik Subbaraj Slams Reporter For Saying Jigarthanda DoubleX Actress Nimisha Is Not Beautiful

Tamil film Jigarthanda DoubleX was released earlier this month to critical acclaim and positive reviews. Recently, the cast and crew of the movie got together for a success meet and something strange happened there. The event featured Karthik Subbaraj, SJ Suryah, Raghava Lawrence and Santhosh Narayanan among others.

For some unknown reasons, the movie’s leading actress Nimisha Sajayan wasn’t present at the event.

This built the audacity of a reporter who went on to ask director Karthik why he chose Nimisha as his heroine despite her being not beautiful enough. Karthik was quick to shut the reporter and say, “How can you say that she is not beautiful? It is your mindset, I guess. It is wrong to say someone is not beautiful. That is a wrong judgement.”

Everyone including SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence largely appreciated Karthik Subbaraj’s response.

Santhosh Narayanan who was also present at the success meet later took to Twitter and wrote, “I was there. It was not just about the ridiculous ‘beauty’ question for the reporter. There was a conscious effort from the guy to ask something controversial and he was so proud after asking this. Nothing has changed since the appalling ‘Jigarthanda’ – ‘Figuredhanda’ question 9 years ago.”

Karthik recently slammed Mansoor Ali Khan over his distasteful remarks about actress Trisha.?

Mansoor caused controversy when he said, “Mansoor said in his regional language, "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me.”

“But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule."

Karthik took to Twitter and responded to Trisha condemning Mansoor’s remark and said, “Disgusting MEN kind he is....... Shame on you MansoorAliKhan”. Trisha in her response to Mansoor tweeted, “A recent video has come to my notice where Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner.”

“I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind.”
