The only Indian who has stolen the limelight from big celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kiara Advani, social media influencer Nancy Tyagi is over the moon. She has not only received accolades from stars like Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, but she has also finally won her father's heartfelt support.
Do you know Nancy Tyagi was a UPSC aspirant who became a social media influencer by chance? Leaving her hometown, a small village called Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, she had come to Delhi to prepare for UPSC but then lockdown happened. As her financial condition started deteriorating, she bought a camera with the leftover money and started making videos. When her dance videos didn't work, she started stitching using her mother's sewing machine. She then thought of uploading these videos on social media. Her brother would record her 'outfit from scratch' videos in which she recreated outfits of popular celebrities. Initially, she didn't get enough traction on her videos. She got trolled and body-shamed a lot.?

Her mother used to work at a coal factory, and her father who stayed back in the village was a TV technician. Initially, no one supported her. Not just her relatives, even her father who didn't understand the social media world, didn't support her.?
"Initially, my dad?didn¡¯t?support my work at all, but now he does, so?now?I feel stress free. Things have changed a lot after my popularity on social media. And after Cannes, papa ne yeh realise kiya ki videos bana kar bhi insaan bada ban sakta hai," she was quoted as saying by HT.? ?
Her father, Gajendra Singh, a TV technician in Barnawa village, said, "I have never travelled beyond Delhi in my life but my daughter made it abroad. She worked really hard despite the criticism and achieved what she wanted."
