One of the most acclaimed actor's in Bollywood Rajkummar Rao has opened up about his struggles in life before grabbing the spotlight in the Hindi film industry. The actor, who has been critically acclaimed for his stunning performances in some of the most unconventional movies, appeared at the India Today Conclave East 2022 recently.?
During an interaction, the actor spoke about some of the ongoing issues related to the film industry - such as nepotism, emergence of OTT platforms and streaming services, and the North Vs South debate due to the success of South Indian films.?
During his appearance at the Conclave, the actor said that it was difficult being an outsider. The actor said that he grew up in a joint family in Gurgaon, which was a small town at the time. He also said that as a kid he fell in love with cinema and wished to become an actor.?
"There were times when I lived on one Parle-G ka packet a day with just Rs 18 in my bank account. Luckily, I had friends from film school who helped. But I never had a Plan B. I always wanted to become an actor,¡± Rajkummar Rao further added.?
Rajkummar Rao, who was last seen opposite Bhumi Pednekar in the movie Badhaai Do, is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming film of HIT: The First Case. The Sailesh Kolanu directorial will see Rajkummar Rao in the character of an intense police officer while actress Sanya Malhotra plays the leading lady. HIT: The First Case, is the official remake of the Telugu action thriller with the same title and is slated to hit screens next week on Friday, July 15, 2022.?
