Another Complaint Against Ram Gopal Varma By BJP Worker Over Controversial 'Draupadi' Tweet
Filmmaker?Ram Gopal Varma, who is infamous for his controversial remarks, has found himself in a legal soup yet again. This time, a complaint has been filed against him by a BJP worker reportedly for his tweets about National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Presidential nominee Draupadi Murmu.?

As per news agency PTI, a BJP worker named Subhas Rajora in Mumbai has moved court over his "uncharitable" remark over Draupadi Murmu.
In his complaint, he sought against Varma for offenses under sections 499 and 500 (defamation), 504 (intentionally insulting a person) , and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complaint was filed before the metropolitan magistrate court in suburban Bandra on July 14, the complainant's lawyer D V Saroj said on Saturday.??
The magistrate has adjourned the matter to October 11 for taking cognisance of the complaint, he added.?
The complaint stated that Varma had made "derogatory" statements through his Twitter handle which outraged the respect of women on social media. His tweets are tantamount to disrespecting the scheduled caste (SC) people.??
This isn't the first case against RGV in the same regard.?BJP leaders Gudur Reddy and T Nandeshwar Gaur had lodged complaints against him at a police station in Hyderabad. A case had also been lodged in Lucknow under several sections including the IT Act.
Here's what Ram Gopal Varma had tweeted about Draupadi Murmu
On June 22, RGV tweeted, "If Drapaudi is the President who are the Pandavas? And more importantly, who are the Kauravas?"
In another tweet on June 24, he clarified, "This was said just in an earnest irony and not intended in any other way...Draupadi in Mahabharata is my favourite character but since the name is such a rarity I just remembered the associated characters and hence my expression. Not at all intended to hurt sentiments of anyone."
Ram Gopal Varma's remarks had sparked controversy across the nation.
