Amid the Pathaan row taking over politics with several BJP leaders demanding a ban Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly asked the party leaders to avoid making unnecessary comments on movies.?
This reportedly happened during the?BJP national executive meeting in New Delhi on Jan 16 and Jan 17. As per a report on India Today, PM Modi allegedly said that?"some people give statements on some film" and it plays on TV all through the day. He thus asked them to avoid making "unnecessary statements".
PM Modi's reported comments came after the enraging Pathaan controversy. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer movie has come under the scanner after the song Besharam Rang was released. Many people have accused the song that features Deepika Padukone ina? saffron coloured bikini of hurting religious sentiments.?
BJP leaders including Ram Kadam and Narottam Mishra have been vocal about criticising the movie.
In an interview with ETimes, BJP MLA Ram Kadam said,?"If you read my tweet, I did not mention that we are asking ban on Pathaan. I just said that we are the Hindu ideology government in Maharashtra and we will definitely not tolerate any kind of film or serial which is going to hurt Hindu sentiments and we will definitely not allow them to release. This is my clear stand."
"The producer and director should come forward and clarify their stand against the objectionable points raised by Hindu Sadhus and organizations. When there is an outrage by these Sadhus and Saints, none of the authorities are coming forward and clearing their stand," he added.MP?Home Minister Narottam Mishra stated that the costumes and scenes should either be corrected or deleted. He even called?Deepika Padukone a supporter of the tukde-tukde gang. He wrote, "the costumes are highly objectionable and the song has been shot with a dirty mindset (sic)."
