If you are a Tabu fan, you will soon see her in a Hollywood project. The Bollywood actress known for her brilliant performances in films like Maachis, Chandni Bar, Maqbool and Drishyam among others has been roped in Max prequel series Dune: Prophecy. Not a cameo appearance, Tabu has bagged a recurring role in the show.?
The Bollywood star will essay the role of Sister Francesca, which is described as "strong, intelligent, and alluring, Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital."
The show stars British actors like?Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, Jade Anouka, Chris Mason, Jodhi May and Josh Heuston. The filming of the project was wrapped up in December 2023.?Dune: Prophecy is expected to premiere in the late 2024 on HBO Max (and Jio Cinema in India).
The series was initially commissioned in 2019 under the name Dune: The Sisterhood. The prequel is inspired by the novel titled Sisterhood of Dune, which has been written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. The official synopsis reads, "Set within the expansive universe of ¡®Dune,¡¯ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ¡®Dune: Prophecy¡¯ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit."

Dune: Prophecy was unveiled on the originally scheduled release date of Dune: Part Two?in November 2023. Initially helmed by Denis Villeneuve, who was directing the films, the series encountered several creative shifts. Villeneuve stepped away from the project, leading to Anna Foerster stepping in to direct multiple episodes.
Before this, the national award-winning actress had worked in international projects including The Namesake (2006), Life of Pi (2012) and the British miniseries A Suitable Boy.
