Bollywood¡¯s own superhero Tiger Shroff is known for all the flips and stunts that he has entertained the country with. Audiences look up to him as an entertainment package that won¡¯t make anyone regret buying his film¡¯s ticket. In a latest interview, India¡¯s very own Flying Jatt opened up on auditioning for Spider-Man.
For the facts, Since the spider-man series began in 2002, Hollywood actors Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland have played the lead character. They were also roped in together for 2021¡¯s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even when there was an Indian version of Spider-Man in Marvel Comics, no Indian actor has essayed him on screen.
But now there¡¯s a revelation that Tiger had also auditioned for Spider-Man and was even ¡®quite close¡¯ to getting cast in the popular superhero role.
"I had sent them my tapes also, my showreel. They were quite impressed as to what I could do. My pitch to them was ¡®I¡¯d save you a lot of money on VFX because I can do most of what Spider-Man can do,¡± Tiger said in an interview with ConnectFM Canada.
Not revealing for which edition Tiger auditioned, he further talked about his Hollywood aspirations saying, "I¡¯ve had the privilege of meeting a lot of esteemed people from there, and they seem to be very interested in what I do. Ever since Jackie Chan, there hasn¡¯t been a crossover action hero, per se, in this space at least. I don¡¯t think there¡¯s anybody in my age category right now, in terms of the action hero genre."
Tiger¡¯s last on-screen film Heropanti 2 failed miserably at the box office making only ?35 crores on a ?70-crore budget. Recently, in an Instagram Ask me Anything session, Tiger even joked about his own failure. When a fan asked Tiger, "Heropanti 2 karke aapko kaisa laga (how did you feel after doing Heropanti 2), he replied, ¡°Release hone se pehle bada mazaa aya¡ release k bad l lag gaye (it was a lot of fun before the film's release, but not after the release).¡±
Tiger will be next seen in Ganapath where he¡¯ll be teaming up with his debut co-star Kriti Sanon again. The film will release on 23rd December this year and is directed by Vikas Bahl.
