In the past few months, Vikrant Massey has become a household name, earning praise for his impressive performance as IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in "12th Fail."
Adding to his happiness, the talented actor recently welcomed a baby boy with his wife, actress Sheetal Thakur.
Vikrant Massey's journey in the entertainment industry began with successful roles in TV shows like "Balika Vadhu," "Dharam Veer," and "Qubool Hai." He later made a transition to both theatrical and OTT films, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
In a recent interview on Unfiltered by Samdish, the "A Death in the Gunj" star revealed a significant decision he made in his career. Despite earning a lucrative Rs 35 lakh per month in a television acting job, Massey decided to quit due to the prevalence of "regressive content" on TV. He emphasised the importance of inner peace over financial success, stating, "I decided to do good work and find peace."
Acknowledging the challenges that followed his decision to leave TV, Massey spoke about the crucial support he received from his then-girlfriend, Sheetal Thakur. With his savings running out within a year, Sheetal provided him with pocket money for auditions, helping him navigate the initial hurdles.
As Vikrant Massey found success in the world of movies, his fees saw a significant increase. Reports from Hindustan Times in 2021 revealed that Massey charged between Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore per film. His fees further rose to Rs 1.5 crore, with an additional clause for an extra Rs 1.5 crore if the film opted for a direct-to-digital release.
In 2024, one of Massey's much-anticipated releases is the sequel to "Haseen Dilruba" titled "Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba." Directed by Jayprad Desai, the film will feature Massey reprising his role as Rishu alongside Taapsee Pannu, with Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill also making appearances.
