Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 6: Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna recently starred together in a period drama that is ruling the box office like anything. Based on the life and sacrifices of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the film saw a massive dip in its fourth day but has picked up again - thanks to videos of people leaving theatres in tears. The emotional quotient is winning here!
According to Sacnilk, on Day 6 (February 19), Chhaava earned Rs 32 crore which is about 27% growth from its previous day's numbers which were Rs 25.25 crore. The current domestic net of the film stands at Rs 197.75 crore. With India's gross at Rs 236.85 crore and an overseas of Rs 33.15 crore,?Chhaava¡¯s worldwide total stands at Rs 270 crore.
While the Rs 300 crore mark is not far, it is safe to say that the coming weekend will push Chhaava easily into the Rs 400 crore club. Made on a reported budget of just Rs 130 crore, the historical saga is already in good profit. It will also seemingly have a longer run at the box office considering there¡¯s barely any competition film running or coming in the near future.
This story is based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. It tells the tale of how, after the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, his son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, takes over and leads the Marathas in their fight against the Mughal Empire. Despite facing betrayal from within and the huge army of Aurangzeb, Sambhaji uses clever guerrilla tactics to fight back.
He is eventually captured and tortured but refuses to give up. His courage inspired others to keep fighting, and after his death, the Marathas eventually defeated the Mughals, helping India move towards self-rule (Swaraj).
