After months of speculations, South Korean star Ma Dong-seok, aka Don Lee, has seemingly confirmed being part of Prabhas starrer Spirit. The actor, known for his action-packed roles, took to his Instagram stories to give a shout-out to Prabhas, and now fans are wondering if the actor has come on board for the action-entertainer. If true, this would mark Lee's first appearance in an Indian film.
Don Lee, who played the role of Gilgamesh in Eternals, left social media buzzing with excitement after he shared a poster of Prabhas starrer Salaar. The development came just days after it was reported that the Indian star had begun shooting for Salaar Part 2. Earlier this year, speculations were rife that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had roped the South Korean actor to play the lead antagonist in Spirit.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, Ma shared a poster of Salaar Part 2. In the middle of the poster, he also added his picture with a thumbs up. This has not only confirmed Dong-seok's Prabhas connection but also seemingly confirmed reports of his role in SRV's Spirit.
Directed by Vanga and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Spirit is another high-octane pan-India venture in Prabhas' kitty after Salaar. The upcoming film will see him playing the role of an earnest police officer, a first in the rebel star's decorated career.
Earlier, reports suggested that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are also in talks to star in the film; however, neither makers nor the actors have confirmed the speculations.
Known to be the biggest fan of Hello Kitty, Ma Dong-seok's acting career took off in 2004 with Dance with the Wind. He then appeared in notable films like The Good, the Bad, the Weird, Insadong Scandal, and Perfect Game. However, his international stardom came in 2016 as Sang-hwa in the hit zombie film Train to Busan,?which featured Gong Yoo in the lead role.
Ma's international stardom soared in 2021 when he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gilgamesh in the superhero blockbuster Eternals, marking his Hollywood debut.
