The sudden and untimely passing of Matthew Perry has sent shockwaves through the global community of "Friends" fans.?In the wake of this tragic event, the collective outpouring of grief and fond remembrances has underscored the profound impact of Perry's portrayal of Chandler Bing and the enduring connection he forged with fans around the world.
Following actor Matthew Perry's passing, known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit TV show "Friends," mourning fans are speculating that Perry's last social media posts, which included cryptic photos, captions, and Batman references with bat-signal images, might have been a subtle cry for help.
This room featured three large flat screens adorning its walls, each displaying the logo of the 2022 movie "The Batman." Notably, on the ceiling, amidst a backdrop of stars, the silhouette of the bat signal was prominently displayed.
¡°No need to worry, everybody,¡± Perry wrote. ¡°I've got the streets tonight.¡±
Two days later, in his second post, Perry depicted the bat signal with red lights, creating the illusion of it floating on the brink of a building with the backdrop of city lights in the distance. Perry's accompanying message read:
¡°Sleep well, everybody. I've got the city tonight¡ªMattman.¡± ¡ª "Mattman" is formed by blending his first name, Matthew, with the iconic figure of Batman.
Three days later, he shared an electronic signboard displaying the message "BATMAN PLAYS PICKLEBALL," along with the text: "Rest easy. I'm on a tall building.¡±
He also posted a picture of a Halloween-themed pumpkin with a hole shaped like the Batman logo. ¡°Do you know what I mean?¡± he captioned it.
He also shared a video displaying a half-moon in the night sky, with something partially visible flickering in the foreground, while the accompanying text read: ¡°Do you understand what I'm trying to tell you? --I'm Mattman."
Perry's final Instagram post, which could be seen as the most unsettling of all, featured an image of himself wearing headphones while reclining in a pool corner. The cityscape and the same half-moon served as the backdrop.
¡°Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good?¡± he wrote.¡°I'm Mattman.¡±
Several hours later, Matthew Perry was tragically discovered lifeless in a hot tub, with reports suggesting that he had drowned.?
While the eerie nature of his social media posts coincided with the Halloween season, many fans have begun to speculate that Perry might have been using these bat signals as a subtle plea for help.
Some fans noted the unusual pattern of his social media activity, as he had refrained from posting for an extended period before suddenly focusing exclusively on Batman-related content.
"Anyone else finds this concerning? He rarely posts. Then, posts nearly daily, but only about Batman with cryptic captions? Then he¡¯s dead in a really strange way? I¡¯m not sure I¡¯m following," wrote a fan on Instagram.
One fan suggested that Perry mentions in his memoir that he'd use a bat signal if he ever needed help.
Despite these ideas, Matthew Perry openly identified as a Batman fan and frequently referred to himself by that name.
Journalist Chris Heath, who interviewed the "Friends" actor for GQ, recalled their meeting and how Batman came up in conversation within minutes of starting the interview.
Heath noted that this made it natural for fans to search for potential messages, signs, or statements in Perry's posts related to Batman.
Remarkably, the last three words in the prologue of Perry's memoir were: "Also, I'm Batman."
