The Indian action film Kill is set to be made in English by Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, the makers of John Wick. The original Hindi film, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, opens in India on July 5. Kill, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, centers on Amrit (Lakshya) as he fights to save his girlfriend Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) while traveling by train to New Delhi.?
The Hindi-language movie is teaming up with a Hollywood studio for its theatrical distribution in the US and the UK for the first time, according to Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. The announcement has been made by Adam Fogelson, President of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
?Chad Stahelski of 87Eleven Entertainment said in a statement, "Kill is one of the best action films seen recently. Nikhil has given such action sequences that more and more audiences should see. It is a pleasure for us to remake it. We have great responsibilities and I look forward to working with Nikhil, Karan, Apoorva, Guneet and Achin to achieve it."

In a joint statement, the makers of Kill said, "When we made Kill with Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, we dreamed of global love and the noise of Kill in North American cinemas was like seeing that dream come true. As we approach our global release, we are happy that 87Eleven Entertainment will remake our film in English."

In the movie, Amrit (Lakshya) learns that Tulika (Tanya Maniktala), his star-crossed fianc¨¦e, is forced into an engagement. To break off the planned union and get back together with his real love, he takes a train headed for New Delhi. But when a group of robbers with knives start intimidating innocent train passengers, Amrit is forced to confront them and protect those in his immediate vicinity. This is when his adventure takes a dramatic turn.
