Starting from Wednesday, January 17, the Delhi Police have implemented alterations to traffic patterns in central Delhi as part of the preparations for the Republic Day parade. The rehearsals on Kartavya Path are scheduled for four days, with a break on Friday. Residents of Delhi should be ready for temporary adjustments in the city's traffic flow as we approach the exciting Republic Day celebrations.
From January 17th to 21st, the renowned Kartavya Path (formerly Rajpath) will host lively parade rehearsals, resulting in some road closures and re-routing to ensure smooth proceedings.
As per the advisory, road restrictions are in place on the following dates: Wednesday, January 17, Thursday, January 18, Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 21. These restrictions apply from Vijay Chowk to India Gate.
The Delhi Police traffic advisory also mentions that there will be traffic restrictions at Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road Crossing, Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg Crossing, Kartavya Path-C Hexagon and Kartavya Path-Janpath Crossing from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM on these dates to ensure the smooth movement of the parade.
Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg Crossing, Kartavya Path-Janpath Crossing, Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road Crossing, and Kartavya Path-C Hexagon will have restricted traffic movement from 10:15 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday
The stretch of Kartavya Path between India Gate and Vijay Chowk will be completely closed to any traffic movement.
Flight movements will be regulated in Delhi from January 19 to January 29 in connection with Republic Day preparations and celebrations
Scheduled flights will not be affected, but non-scheduled and chartered flights' landing or take-off is prohibited from 10 am to 1:15 pm during January 19-25
For January 26-29, the restrictions are in force from 6 am to 9 pm according to the NOTAM issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
If you are travelling from the north to the south or vice versa, please be aware of the following traffic advisory.
There will be restrictions on buses from the south side at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, Krishna Menon Marg, Chanakya Puri, Tyag Raj Marg, Maulana Azad/Man Singh Road, and Subramaniam Bharti Marg. Buses from the north side will be curtailed at Shivaji Stadium, Minto Road.
