Unlike other monotheistic?religions, Hindus believe in polytheism, in which the diverse supernatural elements of the universe are split among many gods and goddesses.?
There are several temples in India devoted to various?gods and goddesses. Devotees frequently make several offerings and donations in order to satisfy the gods and obtain their favours.
Recently, one temple has captured everyone's attention. It is located in Arera Colony in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. While there are many misconceptions about not letting menstruation women within temple premises, Bhopal's temple, Annapurna Devi Temple, is earning acclaim for its work for women's empowerment.?
The fact that sanitary napkins are supplied for ladies here distinguishes this temple from others.
Dipanjan Mukherjee, Director of Heychel Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Bhopal, stated that all sanitary pads and menstrual cups donated in Annapurna Devi Temple are distributed in slum areas and girls government schools in Bhopal with the assistance of the Family Planning Association, Bhopal.?
The concept for donating sanitary pads came from the Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati, Assam, which hosts the popular Ambubachi festival and is known to work on menstrual health and hygiene practices.
People usually buy flower garlands from the market, which range in price from Rs 50 to Rs 200. However, the flowers and garlands are discarded the next day, while the sweets are distributed to the people.?
Nobody benefits from this. Dipanjan believed in doing good with other people's money. He stated that about 11,000 sanitary napkins have been donated to the Annapurna Devi Temple.?
