The fire that broke out at a coaching centre yesterday left at least 20 students dead and several others injured and the visuals of students jumping off the fourth floor of the building to save themselves from the fire were indeed heartbreaking. The officials told that 10 students jumped off the third and fourth floor of the building to escape fire.
Now Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has said that investigation has been order into the matter and it will be by inspected by Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department. The CM has also order fire safety audits of schools, colleges and coaching centres operational across the state. The CM also visited injured children in the hospital and a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the kin who lost their lives.

"The fire started near the staircase, so they could not get down," Joint Commissioner of Police Harikrishna Patel was quoted by News18. Patel also told that all the students who lost their lives were below 20 years? in age.
"We have ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident. We will not spare those found guilty," said Patel. Adding that officials ¡°will check if the construction was illegal¡± as the coaching classes were run in shade constructed on the top floor of the four storey building.

The orders of audit of fire safety norms across the state will check whether the educational institutes have all the fire safety equipment in place to contain fire in case fire breaks out, apart from the educational institutes, the audit will also cover malls, hospitals and other commercial building in major cities and towns of the state.
One of the survivors, Urmi Harsukhbhai Vekari said to News18, "I had joined this drawing class just three days ago. There were 20-30 boys and girls learning drawing from Bhargav Sir. Suddenly, there was a lot of smoke in the room... initially we thought that somebody had burnt papers. Thereafter we came to know that fire had erupted and everybody panicked and they started jumping off," Urmi said.

She further added, ¡°But we saw our sir (teacher) safely lowering down to the railing underneath the window. Putting all my trust in him, I, too, lowered myself and he helped me get on the little space underneath and also helped the other girl. We reached the ground safely on the fire brigade's ladder which came up to us. Bhargav Sir was the last to come down the ladder," she said.
