After A Royal Theft, Thieves Used To Eat In Gold Tiffin Box Of Hyderabad's Nizam

The thieves, who had stolen the diamond studded golden tiffin box of the Nizam from the museum were using it to eat food every day, Hyderabad Police said after arresting two men in connection with the heist. The police?have recovered all stolen items including the tiffin box inlaid with diamonds, a cup studded with rubies, diamonds and emeralds, a saucer and a spoon.

"All (stolen) items recovered. Two accused have been apprehended," the official told PTI.

After CCTV footage of two masked persons (seen walking out of a building and driving a bike) went viral on social media, police suspected that at least two people committed the offence after gaining entry through the ventilator before allegedly indulging in the theft.

The accused, 23-year-old Mohammed Ghouse Pasha and 24-year-old Mohammed Mubeen, are childhood friends and distant relatives.?

The duo had fled to Mumbai with the bounty and lived it up in a luxury hotel.

After their efforts to sell the stolen goods in Mumbai failed they returned to Hyderabad, from where they were caught.?

The Nizam's Museum showcases the collection of Nizam Osman Ali Khan, the seventh and last Nizam and also his father's (sixth Nizam's) wardrobe.

The galleries at the museum stock silver and gold artefacts and replicas of landmark constructions.
