Google reviews can be a great tool for both users and brands. For customers looking for a new product or service they want to use Google reviews can help them make informed decisions. For brands, more good Google reviews mean more business.?
So it is not a surprise that brands take them very seriously and make sure that customers leave a good review of them on Google.
But what happens if people are leaving bad reviews? A hospital in Bengaluru is accused of making personal insults on patients leaving poor reviews on Google.
Athreya Hospital in Suryanagar, Bengaluru is in the eye of the storm after social media users dug out insulting responses posted by them while replying to patients who left bad reviews on Google.
It all began with a Reddit post in which a user expressed doubts about how Athreya Hospital has a 4.7-star rating on Google, implying that they could be fake.
"Went to Athreya hospital at Chandapura for seeing ortho and we paid fee and all and waited only to be informed later that he has an emergency. They made us see the duty doctor who basically didn't know much and just prescribed a pain killer and asked to see ortho next day. The staff and the doctor refused to either refund or see the ortho free next daym the duty doctor didn't even do any proper job. Then we checked Google reviews which are mostly fake but see how the owner has reacted to negative reviews!," a Reddit user posted on the subreddit, Namma Bengaluru.
The Reddit user also attached screenshots of the responses Athreya Hospital made to a negative review.
While responding to a Google review that criticised the hospital staff's rude behavior, Athreya responded by saying that the patient had asked for a discount on their friend¡¯s ¡°sixth abortion in nine months.¡±
When another user accused the hospital of money-grabbing, they responded by saying ¡°By looking at your review, we understand you could be a very poor student throughout your schooling ha ha ha.¡±
As the post went viral, more Reddit users shared similar unprofessional responses by Athreya Hospital.
"You wanted discount for an illegal pregnancy you made with your office colleague miss (full name). You claimed to be her husband but refused to provide your ID and didn't sign the consent forms for the termination of her pregnancy," the hospital said while responding to another negative review.
Some users also pointed out that the hospital was using "abortion" and "6th abortion" as a common response to attack the reviewers.
