The Delhi Police investigating the shocking death of a woman who was hit by a car and then dragged under it for kilometres has said that another female accompanied the victim at the time of the accident.
"The deceased was with one of her friends. The second girl was riding pillion. We have to ascertain whether she dropped her first or she let the deceased go alone. The girl was riding pillion with the deceased before she met with the accident," a Delhi Police source told IANS.
According to reports, the second girl sustained minor injuries after the collision.
Police traced the second girl on Monday evening and she has reportedly confirmed that it was an accident that led to the tragedy.
The police are set to record her statement to prepare a timeline of the entire incident.
Police also said the woman, whose leg got stuck in the car's axle, was dragged on the road for around 12 kms.
Earlier, it was reported that her body was dragged around for 4-5kms.
Police found the scooter in accident condition in Krishan Vihar, Sultanpuri area. The FIR states that the Kanjhawala police station received three PCR calls that the 20-year-old woman was found near Hanuman Mandir, Jonti village, in the wee hours of Sunday.

The accused admitted to hitting the two-wheeler but insisted that they were unaware of her body being stuck under the car.
Two of the accused, Deepak Khanna and Amit Khanna, had borrowed the car from their friend Ashutosh hours before the incident.
After the collision, they left the vehicle at his residence in an accidental condition. The two told Ashutosh they had drinks and that the car met with an accident with a scooty in the Krishan Vihar area.
The car was registered in the name of Ashutosh's brother-in-law Lokesh, who was initially contacted by the police.
Ashutosh told the police that his friend Deepak and Amit took the car from him on Saturday around 7 pm and later left the vehicle at his residence in accidental condition on Sunday around 5 am.
Deepak told the police he was driving the car and Manoj Mittal, another accused, was sitting next to him. Mithun, Krishan and Amit were in the rear seat.
"In Krishan Vihar, they met with an accident with a scooter on which a woman was sitting. The woman fell off the scooter. They got scared and fled towards Kanjhawala," the FIR said.
When they stopped the vehicle near Jonti village on Kanjhawala Road, they found the woman, who was sitting on the scooter, under the car. They got scared and left the victim there. Later, they went to Ashutosh's home, parked the car and proceeded towards their respective residences, the FIR added.
