This, however, is not the biggest jailbreak in the state. In 2007, some 294 inmates, including some 110 hardcore Maoists and Naxals had fled the Dantewada district jail.
The incident happened after Sujeet, a Maoist who is believed to have received guerrilla training in the forests overpowered a jail guard, snatched his service weapon, and managed to set free 294 inmates before fleeing.
