Every year we hear stories of students who despite odds clear their board exams with flying colours. They fight odds such as losing a family member or poverty but in the end, they always succeed.?
Such is the story of Tilotma Yadav from Ajanta Public School in Gurugram who scored 92.5% in her class XII board exams.?

The girl lost her father when she was in class XI and since then, it became difficult to make ends meet. ¡°My mother is a homemaker. Ever since my father passed away, we have found it difficult to live. My family solely depends on whatever financial help my relatives can provide," she said.

Tilotma was admitted to the school under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) but her studies were taken care of. ¡°I have been going through some of the worst days of my life but that didn¡¯t stop me from studying. I want to change my fortunes and that can only happen when I get a good job,¡± she said.?

Tilotma resides in Gurgaon's Sector 31 with her mother and two younger siblings who study in classes III and V in the same school.
Tilotma also borrowed books from her seniors, thus saving money she would have spent on new books. She also used the school's library and made the most of her limited means to study.
¡°I would like to go to a regular college but if I can get a job which will help my family, I¡¯ll also take that up. I have not decided about what I want to do after college,¡± Tilotma said.

Tilotma's story is an inspiring one. It shows how some students persevere in the face of adversity and prove that they too can rub shoulders with others who have had no such problems. Well done, Tilotma. You make us proud.?
