On Wednesday, fresh snowfall was reported from Baltal and Sonamarg hill stations, Zojila Pass and Drass town of Kargil district.
Following the snowfall the 434-km long Srinagar-Leh highway, connecting the Ladakh region with Kashmir valley was temporarily closed for vehicular traffic. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the highway.

Meanwhile, heavy rains have been reported from many other areas inundating low-lying areas.
The tributaries of Jhelum river has reported a rise in their water levels due to the heavy rains.
According to reports, two women from Bandipora district were killed in a rain-related mishap while four others were injured.
