Actor and Gurdaspur MP Sunny Deol failed to turn up for Lok Sabha sessions. Deol could not influence with his attendance record in the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha by not attending the house for 28 days.
Lok Sabha attendance records reveal that Deol only attended the Parliament session for five continuous days soon after the resumption of the monsoon session but then gave it a miss for the next whole week.
The Lower House functioned for a total of 37 days out of which Deol missed 28 days. In total, the Gurdaspur lawmaker attended nine sittings of Parliament.

Deol had defeated sitting MP and Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar by 82,459 votes from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat in Punjab.
He had joined the BJP on April 23, this year.
Actor-turned-politician also stoked a controversy after appointing screenwriter Gurpreet Singh Palheri as his 'aide' to co-ordinate with government functionaries on his behalf.
Deol announced that Palheri will look after the affairs of his constituency on his behalf. Party insiders said Palheri had also been authorised to take up issues related to Gurdaspur with Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujwal.
"Palheri's appointment is a clear-cut indication that he has been authorised to chair meetings, including review meetings of the Central government-sponsored schemes, on behalf of Deol," a senior state BJP leader told news agency IANS.
