One of humankind's biggest curiosities is whether extra-terrestrial life exists in the depths of space. And UFO sightings or any unusual sign in the sky excite people every time. In one such occurrence, a mysterious light appeared in the Kolkata sky for around three minutes on Thursday.
This light was visible in Bishnupur, Kirnahar, Ghatal, and Murshidabad at around 5.47 pm.?As per a Times Now report, this event led sky-gazers to speculate about sighting of an alien ship. Some people panicked while most questioned whether "it was an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO)?"?
Initially, the state administration also seemed clueless about the development. However, the light gradually disappeared after a while and as per witnesses, it was seen in the eastern parts of the sky. In contrast, some claimed that the light was seen in the northern parts of the sky.?
Later it was divulged that the illumination in the sky resulted from the recent night trials of the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), Agni-V, in the Bay of Bengal.?
India successfully conducted night trials of the Agni-V nuclear-capable ballistic missile on Thursday. The missile can reach targets beyond 5000 kilometres and is critical to India's self-defence capabilities. The launch was carried out at 5.30 pm from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.?
