In the videos that have gone viral on social media, dozens of students can be seen 'sleeping' in the canteen.
According to some students, the demand for the installation of ACs in the hostel has been raised for years, but the administration has not taken any action.
The video has sparked much debate on social media, with many users expressing solidarity with the protesting students. Some argued that being one of the most prestigious colleges in the country, and given the amount the students pay in fees, providing ACs in the hostel is the least the institute can do for its students during the hot summer days.
IIM Amritsar was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2015 and is one of the youngest IIMs.
